Write an Impact Statement

An impact statement is your chance to share who Nate was, how his death has affected you, and the lasting impact he had on your life—whether it’s something you learned from him or an experience that has stayed with you, or just generally who he was to you. If you didn’t know Nate personally but are close to a family member and have witnessed how his death has affected them, you can write about that instead. These statements are crucial because the Judge will consider them when determining the defendant's sentence. The process is simple, and you can click below for instructions on how to prepare and submit your statement. We want the Judge to focus on how Nate lived, not how he died. And ultimately, we want the toughest punishment possible.
